The ISC Innovator Award recognizes individuals, organizations, or collectives for their creative social innovation in contemporary sculpture. This award celebrates those who develop new ideas and work that expand how sculpture can effect change. The recipient will be honored at a community awards ceremony (date TBD).
Eligibility and Award Criteria
- Eligibility:
- Open to individuals or groups (artists, cultural organizers, curators, nonprofits, organizations, collectives, etc.).
- Available for both domestic and international entities.
- Not open to current graduate or undergraduate students (eligible students should consider the ISC Outstanding Student Achievement in Contemporary Sculpture awards program).
- Open to sculptors/groups working in any material or medium.
- Award Criteria:
- Encouraging social change through art.
- Developing new ways of thinking, seeing, and interacting.
- Providing unique benefits to the community and/or society.
- Demonstrating ingenuity in the use of media, technique, and processes.
- Advancing methods of creative and professional growth.
Award Recipient Benefits
- $1,000 cash prize.
- One-year ISC membership at the Professional (individual) or Associate (organization) level.
- Recognition on sculpture.org and in Sculpture Magazine.
- Opportunity to present work/project virtually to the ISC Sculpture Community.
- Potential residency opportunity, if available.
Submissions will be reviewed by a jury of professionals in the field, who will select one final recipient. The selection will be confirmed by the ISC Awards Committee and Board of Trustees.
