Metrotopia Metaverse virtual call center launched,

Zaha Hadid Architects and Chicago-based firm ArchAgenda have launched Metrotopia,

Dubbed the unique metaverse project,

it is dedicated to becoming the virtual communication center for the global design community.

Metrotopia Metaverse was launched with a virtual exhibition at this year’s Venice Architecture Biennale.

The exhibition, titled Knowledge Transfer,

showcases current work from some of the world’s leading architecture studios including OMA and Morphosis.

Coop Himmelb(l)au, UNStudio, MAD, Sou Fujimoto, Archi-Union

and LAVA, CAP, EcoLogic Studio, and Zaha Hadid Architects.

In response to the overarching theme of Lab of the Future curated by Leslie Loko,

The Metrotopia is part of the Implicit Architecture Biennale event that includes CityX,

A flock of virtual pavilions hovering over Venice showcasing the research work of architecture educators from around the world.

In addition to a physical exhibition at Palazzo Ca Zenobio hosted by the New York Institute of Technology,

It presents student work from several schools of architecture.

Metrotopia will also be shown at the Chicago Architecture Biennale later this year.

“We have invited leading companies to showcase their most future-oriented work within Metrotopia,”

said Patrick Schumacher, Director of ZHA.

“Our idea, then, is to highlight the real contribution of architecture to urban development,

in its most advanced form,” added Schumacher.

Metrotopia metaverse

Metrotopia Metaverse is a multiplayer virtual environment created with Unreal Engine 5.

It features spatial sound for realistic communicative interaction within a vibrant setting that allows the character and quality of objects and designed spaces to be visualized faithfully.

Metrotopia’s technology partner and hosting platform is Mytaverse.

Zaha Hadid designed Metrotopia’s first incubator building and initial urban core with overlapping spaces now available.
