The Muuto Design Contest 001 is an open-call competition aimed at discovering the next generation of iconic accessories. Emphasizing a progressive and forward-looking approach, the contest seeks to support new talents in the design world, encouraging participants to introduce innovative ideas and new perspectives that elevate everyday design.

Participation

The Muuto Design Contest 001 is open to individuals with a background in design or related fields. Participants are encouraged to explore the essence of Scandinavian design while challenging traditional notions and introducing fresh, creative perspectives. Designers are invited to submit proposals for small home furniture and accessories that blend form and function, offering new perspectives on items for hallways, living rooms, dining rooms, and offices. The aim is to create functional yet sculptural pieces that enhance any room and complement the Muuto universe.

Prizes

The first prize winner will have the opportunity to exhibit their product at 3daysofdesign 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark, with the possibility of production or limited production. The winner will also receive a prize of €5000. Second and third prize winners will have their products displayed at the event and will each receive €2500 in prize money.

Submission Deadline

Participants must submit their entries by October 12, 2024, at 11:59 PM CEST. All required materials and details must be included in the submission. This is an exciting opportunity to have your work recognized and showcased in a prestigious setting, with the potential to impact the world of design.
