Nostalgian Floor Lamp Clock

'Nostalgian Floor Lamp Clock'은 시계와 플로어램프가 결합이 된 제품입니다. 개인적으로 열광하는 두 명의 작가들의 작품을 영감을 받으면서 함께 온전히 제 자신이 좋아하는 것을 제품으로 솔직하게 표출해내고 싶었습니다.

'Nostalgian Floor Lamp Clock' is a product that combines a clock and a floor lamp. While being inspired by the works of two artists I personally admire, I wanted to express myself completely and honestly with my products.

두 작가의 작품을 보면서 '시간'이라는 단어와 개념에 대해서 나름 깊게 성찰할 수 있는 기회가 생겼습니다. 그렇게 제 스스로가 정의를 내렸을 때는 시간은 우리에게 있지만 우리에게 없는 것이라고 생각했습니다. 결론적으로는 있지만 없는 것이라는 이중적인 의미를 시계에 접목시키고자 하였습니다.

Looking at the works of the two artists, I had an opportunity to reflect deeply on the word and concept of 'time'. When I defined myself like that, I thought that 'There is time, but there is no time.'. In conclusion, I wanted to graft the dual meaning of 'There is, but there isn't.' to the clock.

Purpose 1) To be different clock what we can imagine.

Purpose 2) Having lighting function.

기존의 시계와는 다르게 생긴 형태를 갖추길 바랬습니다. 동시에 제가 개인적으로 좋아하는 것들이 잘 묻어나는 그런 디자인으로 뻗어나가기를 희망했습니다. 정적이지만 강력한 임팩트가 있는 그런 디자인이 되기 위해 많은 생각과 스케치가 필요했습니다.

I wanted it to have a shape that was different from the existing watch. At the same time, I hoped to expand into a design that reflects what I personally like. It took a lot of thought and sketching to create a design that was static but had a strong impact.

앞서 제가 말씀 드렸다시피 스케치를 하면서 제가 좋아하는 것이 잘 묻어나면 좋겠다고 말씀을 드렸습니다. 그래서 저는 제품의 디테일을 올리기 위해서 제가 좋아하는 '카메라'의 제품군에서 디테일의 영감을 얻었습니다. 실제로 작동 및 구현이 되어야 하는 것이니 만큼 실제 카메라 악세사리들을 보며 그 원리를 사용할 수 있었습니다.

As I said before, I said that while sketching, it would be good if the things I liked were well reflected. So, to raise the detail of the product, I got the inspiration for the detail from my favorite 'camera' product line. As it has to be actually operated and implemented, I was able to use the principle by looking at real camera accessories.

있지만 없다는 시간의 개념은 미스티한 효과를 주는 반투명 아크릴을 전면에 사용하여 연출할 수 있었습니다. 그리고 바로 뒤에는 무브먼트가 있고, 무브먼트 뒤에는 조명이 있습니다. 거기서 일어나는 대비 효과로 시계의 초침, 분침의 그림자를 만들 수 있었습니다.

The concept of 'There is time but there is no time.' could be created by using blurry acrylic on the entire surface to give a misty effect. And right behind the movement is there, and behind the movement is the LED light. The contrast effect that occurred there was able to create shadows on the second and minute hands of the clock.

회전축과 방향을 조절하기 위한 구조는 카메라 렌즈와 카메라 삼각대에서 영감을 받을 수 있었습니다. 그리고 그 원리를 이용하여 더욱 견고하게 제품의 각도를 조절할 수 있습니다.

The structure for adjusting the axis of rotation and direction was inspired by the camera lens and camera tripod. And by using that principle, you can adjust the angle of the product more firmly.

실제 제작을 위해 만들어진 목업 데이터입니다. 기존에 존재하지 않던 제품이다 보니 그 구조를 연구하고 실현시키는 과정이 매우 까다로웠습니다.

Mockup data made for actual production. Since it was a product that did not exist before, the process of researching and realizing its structure was very difficult.

거기에 기능을 더해 박수로 조명을 끄고 켤 수 있습니다. 그리고 실시간으로 주변 조도에 따라서 밝기가 스스로 조절이 됩니다.

You can add a function to turn the lights on and off with a clap. And the brightness is adjusted by itself according to the ambient light in real time.
