Professional Parametric Design using Grasshopper

“Recently, parametric design has been spreading as one of the trendiest forms of architecture.

We have been witnessing architectural projects and applications that have complicated forms, with a modern look of high technology, shaping the details of the building. Forms and shapes that were, at times, unimaginable, not to mention being designed and executed as realistic architectural pieces. There is a common misconception among the public that parametric design means only complex shapes, organic forms, and curvy outlines. In truth, parametric design is regarded as the process of linking the design with initial controlling parameters; in a way that the designer can automatically control the whole output of the design by only changing the input parameters.

The parametric design concept is now used in many different manners and specializations, like interior design, industrial design, jewelry design, and even graphic or music designs. Also, another important use of parametric design is digital fabrication, where the design parameters can also control the manufacturing machines. These machines, in a way, understand the design and can produce it, no matter how complicated it is. So now with 3D printers, CNC machines, and laser-cut machines, the creation of a complicated object is becoming easier than ever. A design won’t be a truly successful design if it can’t convert from a digital idea into a tangible real object. That’s also a huge advantage of using parametric tools in the design process.

We use parametric tools and concepts in our design workflow to obtain optimized results, comfortable spaces, and aesthetic architecture.
