Osceola County has launched a project to rebuild and upgrade Reedy Creek Elementary School in Kissimmee, Florida, as part of its educational infrastructure development.This effort is part of the broader initiative of Rebuilding Reedy Creek. The project aims to enhance the learning environment and provide modern spaces that align with the latest teaching methods.

Project Details

Demolition and Reconstruction

Large sections of the existing school will be demolished, and a 96,000 sq ft academic center will be constructed. This expansion will increase classroom capacity and improve educational facilities as part of Rebuilding Reedy Creek.

Upgrades and Renovations

In addition to rebuilding, the project team will renovate some existing buildings, upgrade infrastructure, improve air conditioning systems, enhance lighting, and modernize essential facilities to boost efficiency and sustainability. They will also relocate the school’s playing fields within the campus to improve accessibility and usability, aligning with the Rebuilding Reedy Creek initiative.

Capacity and Educational Development

Upon completion, as a result of Rebuilding Reedy Creek, the school will accommodate 950 students from pre-kindergarten to fifth grade. Classrooms will be equipped with modern furniture and fixtures that support interactive learning and contemporary teaching approaches.

Sustainability and Energy Efficiency

The new design focuses on reducing operational costs through enhanced energy efficiency and the use of eco-friendly construction materials. The modern layout will provide a more comfortable learning environment for students and teachers alike.
