The international architectural competition “Reinterpreting Tradition: Contemporary Insights Towards Buttoned Houses’ Technique” invites students worldwide to explore and reinterpret the unique heritage of Antalya’s Buttoned Houses (Düğmeli Evler). This competition is organized in partnership with the INTBAU Grassroots program, Antalya Bilim University, and the Mediterranean Freelance Architects Association.

Objective

The competition seeks to bridge the gap between traditional craftsmanship and modern architectural practices. Participants are tasked with integrating the cultural and structural essence of the Buttoned Houses with innovative and contemporary design approaches. By doing so, the competition encourages a fresh perspective on preserving and evolving Antalya’s architectural legacy.

The competition is open to architecture students from around the globe, emphasizing inclusivity and creativity.
