SCI-Arc has been restless, brave, and optimistic for 50 years. We commend the perseverance of the individuals and forces behind a movement never previously seen in architectural education, one that embraces the daring of future visions that are constantly changing. The 50th anniversary is being celebrated this year, and there will be free and open events and programming throughout 2022 as well as a special scholarship fundraising banquet.

SCI-Arc’s Main Event 2022: Celebrating SCI-Arc’s First 50 Years, Supporting Students for the Next 50

Main Event 2022, a scholarship fundraising and celebration of the outrageous creativity that has fueled our school’s thought leadership in architecture and design for the past 50 years, is an event that friends and supporters of SCI-Arc are welcome to attend on October 11. Net earnings from Main Event go to the SCI-Arc Scholarship Endowment, enabling additional students to enroll in the renowned institution for innovation and architectural thinking. The main source of funding for student scholarships at SCI-Arc comes from our Main Event gala dinner and awards. By doing so, we are able to uphold our commitment to providing inclusive opportunities for students from all backgrounds. This includes those from communities underrepresented in architecture—to study at SCI-Arc.

SCI-Arc is organizing a free Anniversary Celebration in addition to the Main Event on Saturday, November 5. It’s a part of the All-Alumni Reunion + Student and Community Block Party. In order to recognize the innovative leadership crucial to creating the organization SCI-Arc is today, we will be honoring our former directors and founding professors along with the SCI-Arc family. Moreover, we hope you’ll make plans to attend both events with us! The next generation of risk-takers will push us towards the possibilities of the next 50 years by SCI-Arc. That’s leading the charge in redefining the boundaries of architecture and reflecting the 50 years to propel into the future. We look forward to reconnecting with and thanking everyone who has contributed to making the institution what it is today.
