Engineering – Tech/innovation

HCUC (Harrow College and Uxbridge College) is a very high performing College offering students an “outstanding quality of education” (Ofsted 2022).  We are now looking to recruit an inspirational Section Manager, who will have responsibility to ensure success of our learners, maintain a safe working environment as well as day-to-day operational management at our excellent facilities at the Uxbridge site and West London Institute of Technology.  

Reporting to the Head of School for Engineering (Technology and Innovation), you will line manage three Course Team Leaders and a team of Lecturers, for Electrical, Building Services and Plumbing courses. As part of this exciting role, you will also develop the curriculum, ensure effective curriculum management and teach across a range of programmes.

You will possess a Level 3 qualification in either Building Services, Electrical Installation, Plumbing or Construction and the Built Environment and possess an advanced level teaching qualification, together with at least 2 years’ recent teaching experience in the relevant subject area.   You should have the experience and ability to manage and motivate a team, some curriculum co-ordination/management experience and be able to develop relationships with local employers.
