This Single-Storey Tiny Home Cleverly Expands To Create Some Extra Living Space

Last year, Häuslein impressed us with the Grand Sojourner model, and now they return with the Settler! This single-story tiny home boasts an innovative space-saving design that enhances the living area with a neat slide-out section. Built on a triple-axle trailer, it combines steel and engineered wood finishes. The home measures 30 feet in length and has a standard width of 8.2 feet.

Access to the home is granted through sliding glass doors that open into the living room. This space is unexpectedly roomy for a tiny house of its size, largely due to a manually operated slide-out section on rails, akin to a large drawer, which is utilized when the house is parked. This extra area facilitates a comfortable arrangement, allowing for a sizable sofa, a television, and a coffee table.

Next to the living room is the kitchen, which features an oven, an electric cooktop, and sufficient room for a refrigerator/freezer, dishwasher, and washer/dryer. A breakfast bar and plenty of storage options enhance the kitchen area. The kitchen of the Settler connects to the bathroom, which can be accessed via a sliding door. Inside the bathroom, there is a flushing toilet, a shower, and a vanity sink.

The bedroom is situated on the far side of the house, away from the bathroom, and is easily accessible via a sliding door. This design not only conserves space but also introduces a contemporary flair. The bedroom boasts generous headroom, allowing for comfortable upright movement, a benefit of the home’s single-story design. Inside, you will find a queen-size bed equipped with built-in storage options, ensuring ample space for organizing personal items. Additionally, the room includes several wardrobes and a skylight with an electric blind, which can be adjusted to control the influx of natural light.

The Settler also provides a variety of optional features to enhance your living experience. You have the choice to add a deck, creating an ideal outdoor sanctuary. Furthermore, you can select from various materials to personalize your home. For those who prioritize sustainability, there is an option to upgrade to off-the-grid capabilities, which includes a composting toilet, solar panels, and water tanks to maintain a reliable water supply, making it a perfect choice for eco-conscious homeowners.
