Bored Eye, a design studio situated in Essex, the UK established by industrial product designer Liam de la Bedoyere; the name is an anagram of Bedoyere.

“Render Weekly was conducting a contest while I was away to create an item where the primary form gesture is produced with the sweep command.

With an A5 notebook and a pen, I made the most of my time by brainstorming solutions for this problem. Being back to the fundamentals of design without the use of computers or client meetings was quite liberating.

I had the idea for the bike after a few days of sketching. And I couldn’t wait to return to the office and begin envisioning! Bedoyere says.

At a crossroads with a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and plastic, he decided on wood because of its natural ability to produce this unique product’s organic flow elegantly and because of its aesthetically pleasing finish.

The only way to create this unique eye-catching form would be by steam bending plywood. This means, it’s undeniably practical and eliminates the need to steer.

With a minimalistic Scandinavian aesthetic, the wood grain may easily lead the eye along the “sweep.” Emphasizing the fold and keeping it from becoming lost in its cast shadow.

In addition, if the wood used in manufacturing is ethically sourced, this one-of-a-kind item might be an environmentally responsible bike with its distinctive fun appearance. Therefore, making it a competitor in the market for balancing bikes that youngsters like.

Children may ride bikes, but their parents are the ones who purchase them. So we thought we’d be inventive with different looks to entice them. Adds Bedoyere.
