To help asthmatics reduce their symptoms and enhance actively the quality of life, Recipe Design developed a smart inhaler system.

Over 300 million individuals worldwide suffer from asthma. London-based Recipe Design has developed a prototype digital device (ADD·FLO) to help patients embrace asthma as part of their overall wellness regimen, imagining new methods to manage the condition.

Recipe Design developed a full platform as a result, which consists of an actuator and smart hub loaded with features. Such as at-home spirometry testing and assisted breathing workouts via an integrated lighting display.

The latter’s a component of the modern design language that the design team developed to depart from conventional asthma gadgets. Instead, a premium style is defined by a material palette of glass and glossy polymers in white with accent colors.

The metered-dose inhaler actuator is a distinct device that primes the device for usage by presenting itself as a wand with an adjustable mouthpiece. Meanwhile, autonomous medicine delivery eliminates the need for coordinated pressing to facilitate faster drug intake.

The app generates insights on how to avoid exacerbations, ensuring patients stay aware and in control of their symptoms – smart inhaler system

After administration, the gadget can be brought back to the ADD·FLO smart hub, which serves as a specialized hub for home asthma maintenance. It offers sterile storage for the spirometry test and MDI (Metered-Dose Inhaler) actuator together with a display that alerts the user to critical notifications produced by the ADD·FLO app.

Here, a platform for tracking symptoms and managing medicine unites the complete product assortment. It enables users to monitor data from various applications and smart devices to learn what factors. Such as high pollen counts or nutrition, are influencing their asthma. The app creates greater insights and suggestions on how patients can prevent exacerbations by superimposing and analyzing these data points. Therefore, ensuring they are always aware of and in control of their symptoms.

ADD·FLO integrates excellent design with useful data.

With their recently released smart home device, Soove, which analyzes stress, Recipe Design once again demonstrates how design can successfully transform a simple product into a data-rich platform.

Similar to this, ADD·FLO provides a cutting-edge, environmentally friendly technology that enhances asthma control. While prioritizing the need for human autonomy and enhancing the patient experience with sophisticated analytics and slick materials.

ADD·FLO – smart inhaler system that delivers improved asthma management and prioritises the human need for autonomy.
