The Complete City

Diverse housing, affordable housing, and workforce housing are pressing needs in Portland, Maine. Recent changes within the city’s ReCode initiative have expanded the potential for Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs) to assist meet those needs.

So long as certain requirements are often met, Portland now allows the creation of up to 2 ADUs on any residential lot within the city.

The Portland Society for Architecture (PSA) would really like to ask you to see and test the bounds of Portland’s newly adopted code regulating the development of accessory dwelling units.

The hope of PSA is that this competition will bring back light any overly restrictive rules within the current code also as give inspiration to anyone looking to create an ADU on their own property. we glance forward to seeing your entries!
