Volume Zero and the Tiny House Architecture Competition express their gratitude for the incredible support received from the community. To accommodate participants and provide more time for preparing submissions, the registration and submission deadlines for the competition have been extended.

About the Competition

The 25th edition of Volume Zero’s architectural competitions and the 5th edition of the Tiny House Architecture Competition invite participants to celebrate individuality, sustainability, and innovative living. This year’s theme focuses on creating transformative and multifunctional homes that cater to modern needs while reimagining sustainable and resourceful living.

The Tiny House Movement seeks to redefine housing by exploring mobile or off-the-grid living spaces, offering freedom, independence, and environmental responsibility.

Challenge

Participants are tasked with designing a Tiny House for two people, not exceeding 300 sq. ft., with mobility as a potential consideration. The design must emphasize creativity, innovation, and sustainability. Interior spaces should include:

  • Living Area
  • Sleeping Area for two
  • Workspace
  • Cooking and Dining Area
  • Recreational Space
  • Toilet Space
    Participants may also add other functions based on their concept. Designs should integrate with their chosen site and prioritize off-the-grid solutions.

Awards and Recognition

Total prize pool: USD 4,500

  • 1st Prize: USD 2,000
  • 2nd Prize: USD 1,200
  • 3rd Prize: USD 800
  • Student Award: USD 500
  • 10 Honorable Mentions

Winners and honorable mentions will receive certificates and publications in international architecture and design platforms. All participants will receive a certificate of participation.

Eligibility

The competition is open to everyone, including architects, students, engineers, designers, and organizations, with no professional qualifications required.

Jury Panel

The jury includes renowned architects and designers from around the world, such as Carlos Patrón (Mexico), Fran Silvestre (Spain), and Nguyen Dang Anh Dung (Vietnam).
