Beam Camp New Hampshire: Ambitious Project Proposals for 2024

Annually, Beam Camp New Hampshire looks for imaginative and remarkable projects on a massive scale to act as the core of the 29-day camp session and manufactured by 100 campers and more than 20 staff. Our Project Team helps the chosen designers convert their project visions into the atmosphere of camp. Successful proposals will be decided by a committee of Beam Center staff, young people, former project designers, and community representatives.

Are you a creative individual with a big idea? Beam Camp is looking for Artists, Engineers, Architects, Builders, Filmmakers, Musicians, Designers, Technologists, etc. to submit proposals for their unique, ambitious, and spectacular product. A proposal that clearly communicates a vision (sketches, diagrams, and other visuals) and that reflects your/your team’s expertise is expected. Apply now and take advantage of Beam’s facilities, community, landscape and rural setting to create a project with a range of materials, processes and techniques, and allow them to create the majority of the components onsite and from scratch.

The Beam Camp New Hampshire is located at Beam Camp in Strafford. NH and is expected to be completed by late-July 2024. Previous projects have included Welcome Beacon (2023), As Above, So Below (2022) and A Universe (2021).

Moreover, Selected project artists will receive a $5,000 award and the projects have a fabrication budget of approximately $15,000. Selected artists should have a basic knowledge of the processes, techniques, and materials needed for their proposal. Additionally, selected artists must be available for bi-weekly meetings commencing six months prior to the completion of the project for the purpose of any essential advancement, prototyping, and resolving of issues.

Furthermore, the cash prize award is 5,000 USD.
