Overview

Terraviva launches the UNESCO ANCIENT THEATRE, a new international architecture competition that calls on designers to reimagine and valorise the Ancient Theatre of Ohrid. Situated within a UNESCO World Heritage site, this competition invites proposals that merge historical reverence with architectural innovation. The challenge encourages designs that establish continuity between past, present, and future through thoughtful spatial integration and landscape sensitivity. The exhibition will take place in Spring 2026 in Ohrid, North Macedonia.

Submission Details

Participants must submit the following:

  • Two A1 panels (59.4 x 84.1 cm), landscape orientation.
  • A brief written description of the proposal (250–500 words).

The panels should showcase the conceptual and technical development of the project, with a clear narrative connecting the theatre’s historical relevance and modern reinterpretation.
