Work progress within the sports track project

The Sports Path Project in Riyadh is making headway with the development of the bicycle bridge. After a successful response to the opening of the pedestrian path, with its 1,068 meter length, the project team has now also completed construction work of a bicycle path with the same length of 1,068 metres. 771 metres of the bridge has been installed already and construction of the rest is underway. The bicycle bridge is set to be finished soon, providing the opportunity to Riyadh’s residents and visitors to enjoy safe and sustainable transport through the intersection of King Khalid Road and Prince Mohammed bin Salman Road “Al-Thaghr Plaza”. The Bicycle Bridge will offer citizens and visitors of Riyadh alike the chance to accept environmental sustainability,

health and wellness. With the Saudi Vision 2030 being a driving force behind the bicycle bridge, project managers have made sure that it follows sustainable architectural foundations and design principles. As part of the project, a community communication centre was set up to travel between Riyadh neighbourhoods and inform local communities of the project’s progress. Through extensive planning and an effort towards community engagement, the bicycle bridge will promote an active lifestyle in Riyadh. The city of Riyadh is set to benefit from an enhanced quality of life that promotes sustainability and health in line with the kingdom’s vision for 2030.
