Meet Totem, a Studio Booboon-designed rollable organic LED display that also functions as a soundbar.
Booboon, a Paris and Tokyo-based studio, creates ‘Totem,’ a revolutionary rollable OLED display that also functions as a soundbar, by pulling inspiration from a variety of experiences and cultures.
Designers Jisu Yun and Richard Bone formed this multi-disciplinary design studio with considerable experience and a growing roster of influential clients from all around the world.
“Booboon” is a Korean word that means “intricate component of something.”
“We are highly fascinated by minor aspects that form our everyday lives and inject design ideas into these one-of-a-kind elements; to further enrich a user’s life,” Yun and Bone explain.
Totem is a characterful, sculptural object and it makes use of OLED’s rollable technology to merge into a user’s environment.
You can adjust this OLED display with a minimalistic aesthetic to various heights and angles while on a solid foot.
Multiple configurations and screen formats are possible with this one-of-a-kind conceptual product.
“When rolled away in a vertical position, it transforms into a totem-like eclectic object that can integrate into one’s environment while also functioning as a speaker — taking up less floor space,” they say.
