ArchUp conducted a structured review of its events archive data during October 2026, using AI-assisted automated analysis tools to improve record accuracy and consistency between the Arabic and English editions.

Service update: 28 October 2026

Update added 29 October 2026. ArchUp experienced intermittent access disruptions on 28 October, including an evening period from approximately 18:00 UTC until service was verified at 20:22 UTC, roughly two to three hours. Earlier interruptions were also reported. The hosting team reported restoration and database-configuration issues. Recovery checks and a technical and security review were carried out, and four custom plugins were deactivated as a precaution. Both the English and Arabic homepages were verified as accessible. The underlying cause remains under review; no specific plugin or cyberattack has been confirmed as responsible.

The initial review covered:

  • 1,518 event records
  • 732 venue records
  • 701 organiser records

The audit identified 52 pairs of Arabic and English event records whose date differences require review, alongside groups of repeated titles, venue names and organiser names, and some incomplete links.

These findings may help distinguish earlier data entry errors from subsequent changes to event schedules and organiser information.

The audit findings are being used to prioritise corrections, improve consistency across records and develop pre-publication verification procedures.

This review is one stage of an ongoing data quality improvement programme. It does not mean that all corrections have been completed or that every record has undergone final verification.
