The University of Huddersfield School of Arts and Humanities is seeking a Net Zero Design Associate to work with them, in partnership with Actiform, as part of an exciting and innovative Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP). The vision for the KTP is for a digital transformation, across the business, implementing new processes and technologies which will support and enhance productivity whilst also making significant steps towards net zero and carbon neutrality.

Actiform are bespoke manufacturers and provide the widest range of solutions to meet all building needs. Now approaching four decades experience in the design, manufacture and construction of off-site engineered buildings, the Actiform team to provide the best building solution for site facilities, health, education and commercial environments.

The Role

As Net Zero Design Associate, you will lead the management and implementation of the KTP through a challenging programme of work and will be mentored and supervised by both a University Academic Supervisor, and a Senior Manager from Actiform. Crucially, the role will focus on analysing existing workflows and then improving them through development, testing and implementation of different techniques and principles. You will champion change and raise awareness of BIM and zero carbon within the company, enabling the alignment of design and production workflows (both off-site and on-site) with key stakeholders’ future ambitions.

The Person

You will have experience in digital (BIM) processes, other design processes and zero carbon strategies, preferably in the context of off-site construction, and possess a degree (2:1 or above) in Architecture, Construction Management Engineering, Built Environment/Management, or related discipline. An analytical problem-solver, you will be highly motivated, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
