Battling a life-threatening illness is an incredibly difficult challenge, and family and friends might not always be ready to offer the support that’s needed, regardless of what proportion they struggle . And while doctors and specialists offers support for his or her physical health, people who are battling an illness would also enjoy psychological help and support.

The purpose of this architecture ideas competition is to style an area during which those facing a terminal illness can choose respite, recuperation, and receive support in whatever form they’ll need it while they’re battling their illness. Hospice – Home for the Terminally Ill would act as a centre where patients can visit daily to urge advice, guidance, and companionship while they’re browsing treatment. This competition may be a chance for participants to explore how architecture are often used as a tool to assist people and demonstrate how architecture offers psychological relief to those that are suffering.

While this is often an architecture ideas competition with a stress on creating more conceptual designs, Hospice – Home for the Terminally Ill will got to provide a couple of key functions and have the utmost capacity to comfortably host 15 visitors and 5 staff members. it’ll got to have a standard area with alittle library, a gathering room, and a chapel; a kitchen and dining room, also as a personal area which could function as a nurse’s room and therapy room for psychological support.

There is no defined location chosen for this competition, and participants are asked to pick a theoretical site from their house country.

PRIZES 

3 winning proposals, 2 and 6 honourable mentions will be selected. Bee Breeders will award a total of 6,000 €  in prize money to competition winners as follows:

  • 2nd Prize – 1,500 € 
  • 3rd Prize – 500 €
