One of the most thorough and interesting didactic experiences in the world is the one offered by YACademy. It is the outcome of many years of experimentation and collaboration between esteemed architects. Each course consists of a variety of educational formats that can help young designers in their personal and professional lives.

The program

Architecture is a special tool for those firms with premium positioning that need to feed an ideal of prestige, style, and refinement in addition to the quality of their own products.

Fashion needs architects as much as stylists, photographers, and models—from the showrooms to the shops.

Due to these factors, the course Architecture for Fashion was developed with the goal of educating designers who can translate a brand’s identity into an architectural setting, shifting the connotations of exclusivity, luxury, and elegance from the dress to the chosen setting to display it.

Students will develop skills that they may use in the luxury industry by developing a deeper understanding of the fashion industry’s needs. They will also get familiar with a market segment that is known for its enduring allure and never-ending prospects for fulfilling employment.

The course consists of an 82-hour teaching module, a 32-hour design and construction workshop, a number of special lectures, site visits, and an internship or collaborative time with a member of the YACademy network.

WORKSHOP

SHOWROOM MISSONI

SANAA / Francesca Singer

The workshop, which is in collaboration with Missoni, will focus on rebuilding the maison’s iconic Milan showroom, located on Via Solferino. A little distance from the fashion district, the showroom is housed in a structure that was once the Missoni family’s factory and is set back from the street. The industrial complex, with its iron and glass architecture, contrasts elegantly with the life and inventiveness of the Missoni collections.

The showroom is now a gathering place and event location, but it has served a variety of other functions. Beginning in 2023, the space will have a street view for the first time. Therefore, providing a rare and priceless opportunity to revitalize the aesthetics and the facility’s purpose. It will be to showcase the Missoni universe in all of its facets. Including fashion, furniture, design, and lifestyle. Missoni wants to create a comfortable setting that can reflect the caliber of the business and project one of the most recognizable made in Italy fashion brands into the future.
