About the Competition
Arte Laguna Prize is an annual Venice-based platform for contemporary art and design. The 21st edition combines an open call, a juried shortlist of 120 artists, a large public exhibition at Arsenale Nord, and a set of partner opportunities that include residencies, commissions, and exhibitions in several countries. For entrants, the event functions less like a single-award contest and more like a networked selection process built around visibility, placement, and professional access.
The call spans ten categories, from painting and sculpture to land art, street art, digital work, and art design. The theme is unrestricted. Previously exhibited pieces are allowed, although the organizers indicate a preference for recent production. Winners are announced during the opening phase of the Venice exhibition, which runs from 6 to 29 November 2026.
What is Required?
The call accepts work across ten categories. Each participant may enter up to five pieces across one or more sections, with extra charges for additional entries. No conceptual theme is imposed. At entry stage, applicants submit digital material rather than boards, technical drawings, reports, or models unless those formats are inherent to the work itself. Shortlisted exhibitors should expect to pay shipping and any materials needed for installation.

Intellectual Property
Artists retain ownership of the submitted images and works. By entering, however, they grant Arte Laguna srl and the MoCA association a free right to reproduce, exhibit, publish, translate, and communicate the material to the public. No additional exhibition fee is stated for shortlisted participants.
The material supplied does not confirm the duration, territorial scope, or exclusivity of that license. Not confirmed — check official website. A separate practical point matters: shipping costs and any materials needed for installation remain the artist’s responsibility, while the organizers state that they handle exhibition organization and logistical support.
