Ruang Nyaman’s goal was to create a new model of small living,

where an entrepreneur finds his own private living space.

In addition to places to work, share ideas and gather with others.

And the architect creates a new comfortable working environment while expanding his network,

by combining the contrast between vacation and work.

Designed from the existing structural building, the curved bamboo façades become the project’s main material, combining with other natural materials.

Components of the project

The preferred materials consist of natural stone, coffee grounds,

and wood to interact and enhance the cultural context of this site, while adopting a sustainable approach to design and construction.

The idea was to evoke their spatial sense that gives lingering memories to their lives,

but as a symbol of appreciation for the local culture in a way that conveys a sense of togetherness.

The common area is arranged with a massive bamboo roof, spanning two levels with a wooden ramp connecting the two floors.

The upper floors also serve as a workspace while enjoying the view of the pool and the pattern of curves soothes the eyes, evoking a relaxed atmosphere.

Design form

The ground level promotes interactions and gathering as they soak their feet underwater,

in addition to the common space.

It has a fully equipped kitchen and pantry while you gather and share.

The private spaces are distributed over three floors to ensure a different experience for each level.

With a large balcony with coffee branches like a lounge chair arranged on the ground floor,

providing direct access to the pool.

The second level is also built with the same coffee branches,

in addition to giving the hanging netting as a hammock as a focal point to give a different way to experience the terrace.

The third floor features a long work table with dramatic views of the surroundings.

The interior is also designed as a mezzanine system, featuring a unique staircase linking the living room and bedroom.

They are all designed to maximize the user’s sense of comfort, combining work and vacation.

True to the age of digital nomads, the entire façade is designed to work

with arch-shaped bamboo as circular modular units, conveying a sense of flexibility and a sense of privacy.
