Design features

To highlight contrast, sharing, fun, discovery and sharing,

the structure is an open space where participants can access from different wall entrances,

stimulating exploration and curiosity.

The City of Time, dissolving after 300 hours and rotating on an axis perpendicular to the sea,

offers a spiritual home for creators.

In real cities, the need for jobs stifles spiritual spaces.

Building an imaginary city on the sea allows for the essence of theater and art,

infusing natural life into this space.

The Journey and Transcendence of Reality is a place dedicated to time,

human behavior, nature, and an inspiring meditation on our relationships with ourselves and with the world.

Migratory Birds 300 is perhaps the most romantic,

inventive and polyphonic of the Aranya Theater Festival’s programmes.

As the most widely discussed public art residency project, it is unfolding in two locations: Aranya,

China, and the Regent’s Canal in London, England.

The value of the Migratory Birds 300 lies not only in the gift of uninterrupted time to create new work but also in the 300 hours of shared living and working space.

The residency promotes new collaborations between previously unfamiliar artists,

It encourages creators to push the boundaries of their work and to complete innovative teamwork.

Each room is dedicated to a different display of the work,

while in some rooms some water elements occur as part of the artwork.

Sculptures, tents, seating areas, sunshades, and scaffolding add a lively layer and soul to the structure.
