Established in 1976, Dedar is a family-owned fabric house renowned for its unique style reflected in avant-garde contemporary collections. The captivating color palettes and unexpected patterns of their fabrics result from blending precious yarns with cutting-edge fiber technology. These fabrics cater to various needs in curtains, upholstery, and wall coverings, radiating timeless elegance.

Fabrics, according to Dedar, have the power to tell a story, woven into every thread with the spirit of their makers. Their appeal lies in their individuality and authenticity, transcending the ordinary textile realm. In recent years, Dedar has embraced sustainability, reflected in its inaugural Sustainability Report available for download in the “Social Responsibility” section of the website.

A recent visit to Dedar’s showroom in Milan’s Brera district unveiled their 2024 collection, emphasizing a blend of knowledge and curiosity for textile archetypes, a desire for new insights, and rare craftsmanship.

Here’s a glimpse of the new collection:

Plain Classics: Featuring unparalleled quality velvets, including two incredibly soft alpacas and a luminous cotton, promising elegance and sumptuous beauty.

Texturologie: Exploring light or natural tones with bold color accents, reminiscent of natural elements. The collection delves into “Modern Crafts,” showcasing textured curtains, transparent forms, and voluptuous seating fabrics.

Contemporary Archives: Balancing classic and contemporary, this collection explores various inspirations, including timeless tiger stripes, soft labyrinths, tailoring geometries, and abstract reinterpretations of the Japanese figurative canon. The Contemporary Archives also introduce new flame-retardant fabrics with a couture imprint, particularly emphasizing the bicolor theme. Noteworthy is the exploration of white as the origin and compendium of all other colors, embodied in the White Writings.

Dedar’s commitment to excellence, sustainability, and artistic expression is evident in the diverse and innovative offerings of their 2024 collection.
