The sixth edition of the Autostrada Biennale will take place from July 11 to September 11, 2027, in Prizren, Kosovo. Curated by Lucia Pietroiusti, the internationally recognized curator and researcher known for her work at the intersection of contemporary art, ecology, and social systems, the 2027 edition will continue the Biennale’s long-term engagement with artistic experimentation, local communities, and ecological thinking.

Building on more than a decade of contemporary art programming in Kosovo, the exhibition will explore how art can create meaningful connections between people, places, environments, and wider social and ecological systems. The Biennale will bring together contemporary artistic practices that respond to Prizren’s cultural landscape while encouraging dialogue, participation, and new forms of collective thinking.

The program will be centered around the Autostrada Hangar – Center for Contemporary Art and the Innovation and Training Park (ITP) Prizren, while also making use of the Biennale’s wider year-round infrastructure. This includes exhibition hangars, an open-air theater, residency spaces, and the revitalized Shani Efendi House. Through exhibitions, performances, gatherings, and other artistic activities, Autostrada Biennale 2027 will transform these spaces into platforms for international artistic exchange and community engagement.

With Lucia Pietroiusti as curator, the sixth edition aims to connect contemporary art with questions of ecology, care, collective life, and the long-term relationships between artistic institutions and their communities. The event will contribute to Prizren’s growing role as a dynamic center for contemporary art and cultural exchange in the region.
