Design Week Lagos 2026

Design Week Lagos 2026 will take place from 18 to 25 October 2026 at the National Theatre in Lagos, Nigeria, with the flagship Design + Innovation Exhibition running from 21 to 25 October. Under the theme “Making a New Africa: From Material to Market,” the event explores how African design can move beyond concepts and prototypes toward scalable, commercially viable products and solutions.
The week brings together designers, architects, manufacturers, innovators, creative professionals, investors, and industry leaders from across Africa and beyond. Its program highlights contemporary African furniture, product and industrial design, lighting, textiles, surfaces, and emerging technologies, while creating opportunities for collaboration between designers and manufacturers.
A key feature of the 2026 edition is the Design + Innovation Exhibition (D+IE), which showcases innovative African products and design practices. The event also includes panels, workshops, networking sessions, product launches, and industry discussions, offering a platform for knowledge exchange and business connections.
The 2026 curatorial team includes Norman Teague Design Studios as Lead Curator, alongside Nana Biamah-Ofosu, Ousmane Mbaye, and Juleka, representing different regions and design perspectives across the African continent. Design Week Lagos also forms part of the “All Roads Lead to Lagos” Global Design Tour, connecting Lagos with major international design destinations including Milan, Paris, and London.
With its strong focus on innovation, manufacturing, market access, and the future of African design, Design Week Lagos 2026 aims to position Lagos as a major global hub for contemporary African creativity and design.
