The Global Design News and The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design collaborate on the launch of the revolutionary Future House Awards 2022. Future House Awards is born out of the juxtaposition of residential design and architectural vision aiming to showcase the best and most outstanding new examples of residence created by some of the most creative international architects and their clients worldwide.

“From a shed to a penthouse”— the vision is to present pioneering architectural projects that define the present and shape the future of residential design globally. The award program seeks to define the New Domestic Landscape with the best and most innovative cutting-edge designs for residential architecture.

In 2022, Future House Awards presents a unique opportunity to showcase new, groundbreaking, and cutting-edge private houses, apartments, vacation homes, residential additions, multi-family housing, restoration/renovations, sustainable and affordable housing before a global audience. The program recognizes excellence in architecture and urbanism from a global point-of-view.

In May 2022, a jury headed by Alberto Alessi, Mauro Porcini Chief Design Officer for Pepsi,co and Flavio Manzoni, Senior Vice President of Design at Ferrari  will convene and select the winning projects for the awards.

In July, a public announcement of the winners will be made officially to the press and to the public in Chicago and the awards will be officially presented at an exhibition and Gala Awards Ceremony in Athens this October.

Awarded winners are published in Global Design News and in the book “Future House: The New Domestic Landscape” published by The Chicago Athenaeum and Metropolitan Arts Press.
