Competition Brief

The International Masonry Institute (IMI) organizes The JBC Masonry Innovation Competition 2026 which allows architects and engineers and students and diverse teams to present their masonry design and construction solutions. The competition seeks solutions which demonstrate climate resilience and sustainability and community health and accessibility and social equity while showing technical and architectural advancements.

The entries can explore different aspects of masonry through their material research and construction method study and design method development and business model creation and aesthetic and functional application analysis. Intent
