A vital road that shortens distances and serves the Kingdom’s Vision 2030
The Ministry of Transport and Logistics announced the completion of 49% of the work on the fourth and final phase of the Jeddah-Makkah Direct Road Project.
The fourth phase extends 11 kilometers, making the project a significant step toward completion.
This road, which features four lanes in each direction and a 16-meter-wide median, is a strategic project with national, religious, and economic dimensions.

Project Details: 4 Phases and 62 Kilometers
The project is divided into four phases, three of which have been completed and opened to traffic, with a total length of 51 kilometers.
The current phase is the final phase, extending 11 kilometers, from the Hada Al-Jamum Road intersection to the Fourth Ring Road in Makkah.
The entire route of the road begins in the Al-Nuzha district of Jeddah (near King Abdulaziz Airport) and extends to the Fourth Ring Road in the Holy Capital, with a total length of 62 kilometers.
From an hour and a half to only 35 minutes
Previously, the journey from northern Jeddah to Makkah via traditional roads such as the Haramain Road took approximately one and a half to two hours, especially during peak seasons.
Now, thanks to this ambitious project, the journey will be reduced to just 35 minutes.
A project serving the Guests of God and alleviating congestion
The new road is one of the most important projects serving pilgrims and Umrah performers, facilitating their access to Makkah directly from King Abdulaziz Airport, without having to cross congested roads.
It also contributes to alleviating traffic pressure on the Haramain Road and improving the flow of traffic within Jeddah.

Logistics connectivity that strengthens Vision 2030
This project represents one of the pillars of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in the transportation sector.
The project integrates various logistics sectors, enhances the quality of infrastructure, and enhances the safety and efficiency of transportation.
It also supports the Kingdom’s vision to increase the number of pilgrims and serves new residential areas east of Jeddah and north of Mecca.
Finally,
This achievement not only represents an infrastructure development, but also embodies the Kingdom’s ambition to make the Hajj and Umrah experience smoother and faster, as part of a spiritual journey characterized by comfort and organization.
