Modular Architecture Essay Competition advance registration deadline is approaching!
Modular architecture is one of the foremost dynamic components of design, offering versatile solutions in creating efficient and sustainable spaces. Modules are often used as both the building blocks of a structure and standalone elements, adding customization to projects without incurring high costs.
The Modular Architecture Essay Competition is being run in tandem with the Modular Home Design Challenge 2021, in which participants are tasked with designing a modular home that can be constructed in any form or layout in any location in the world. This essay competition calls for submissions that offer a critical analysis of modular architectures and how it can revolutionize architectural design in both residential and commercial spaces.
How has modular construction enabled more sustainable designs? How has modular architecture been integrated into standard practice? What’s the worldwide impact of modular design trends, and way will the longer term of architecture be impacted by this versatile design component?
Winning entries are going to be featured within the next edition of ARCHIVE BOOKS’ ‘Modular Architecture’ publication, alongside the winning entries of the planning competition. Participants are welcome to enter either competition separately or both of them together.

PRIZES
3 winning proposals and 6 honorable mentions will be selected. Bee Breeders will award a total of 1,000 € in prize money to competition winners as follows:
- 1st Prize – 600 €
- 2nd Prize – 300 €
- 3rd Prize – 100 €
+ 6 honorable mentions
Authors of all winning submissions will be credited for their work. The publication will be featured on our partner websites and is intended to receive international exposure. Each selected author will receive a free copy of ARCHIVE BOOKS Modular Architecture.
