A house isn’t always a home and a home isn’t always a house. The concept of a house is both universal and distinctly unique to every individual person and every culture from every a part of the planet . From big cities to small towns to tiny rural villages, each culture is influenced by its own history, politics, economy, and resources in how they define a home. That being said, there are a couple of common traits of a perfect home that we will all aspire to.

The Modular Home Design Challenge 2021 is that the first during a series of annual competitions that specialize in the concept of modular architecture. together of the foremost versatile sorts of design, modular architecture offers creative, efficient, and sustainable solutions when designing homes and living spaces. Operating either as a building block that’s a part of an integrated system, or as a stand-alone entity, modular construction breaks from traditional built projects and allows novel designs to be realised.

For this competition, participants are tasked with designing a modular home which will be constructed in any form or layout. The modular home are often set during a location of their choice, either rural, urban, or suburban. The jury are going to be trying to find design concepts that show a critical appraisal of what a house is and will be in an increasingly interconnected and technology-driven world.

This is the primary competition in an annual competition series and is being launched together with an essay competition on an equivalent topic. As winning entries are going to be featured within the next edition of ARCHHIVE BOOKS’ ‘Modular Architecture’ publication, those designs that are the foremost innovative and galvanizing are going to be favoured.

 

PRIZES

3 winning proposals, 2 and 6 honourable mentions are going to be selected. Bee Breeders will award a complete of 6,000 € in prize to competition winners as follows:

1st Prize – 3,000 €
2nd Prize – 1,500 €
3rd Prize – 500 €
ARCHHIVE Student Award – 500 € + 50 € gift card at ARCHHIVE BOOKS (https://archhivebooks.com/)
Bee Breeders Green Award – 500 €
+ 6 honourable mentions
