Open Call: Film and Architecture Festival

The film and architecture festival announces an open call for films related to architecture and urbanism. It could be short films, mid-length or feature films.

The Festival is a part of the Day of Architecture, and both celebrate World Architecture Day. Taking place each October in Prague and across the Czech and Slovak Republics. The festival has become an independent platform for discussions on architecture and urbanism based on screening documentaries, and experimental films. It aims to promote contemporary architectural approaches among the general public. And present architecture as a significant part of our everyday life that requires appreciation and care. Moreover, it is important to introduce architecture from different viewpoints such as the artistic, social, or environmental, and thus stimulate an interdisciplinary debate on architecture and the cooperation possibilities with other disciplines. Additionally, A significant part of the festival’s activities is the initiation of short films on architecture by young Czech filmmakers that are part of the main program of the festival.

Moreover, Czech Film and Architecture festival is organized by KRUH (Circle), a civic association, which was founded in 2001 by a group of architecture students at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and it is the only NGO, which operates professionally and continually within the architecture field nowadays. Additionally,  The Our activities focus on an ongoing cycle of lectures on architecture held by leading Czech and foreign architects and architecture critics. In addition to that, we have organized excursions to contemporary architectural realizations and film festivals.
