Porada International Design Award 2023 are running an international ideas contest to come up with new, innovative mirror designs (this includes table mirrors, wall mirrors, structures, and furnishing accessories that feature a reflective surface). Solid wood should be the primary component (though not exclusive) of the designs, as well as conveying Porada’s values and identity. The use of natural wood, preferably those employed by the company, or lacquered, can be combined with metal, glass, and other materials.

All submissions must be originally developed for the competition and be unpublished, and should enhance the use of production technologies, woodworking processes, and typical wooden finishing. Safety standards, ergonomic factors, environmental concerns, and sustainability must also be taken into account and followed. Each participant (or group) can submit only one project. The projects will be assessed and evaluated regarding their originality, inspired innovation and research of new design solutions related to the typical processing of solid wood, experimenting with materials, surface finishings, anticipating their potential scenario of use, and exploring innovative concepts on wood furniture and contemporary furnishing accessories.
