Shrek and Donkey welcome visitors to stay in their muddy Swamp of Shrek

Shrek’s Swamp, a grass-and-mud-covered cottage beneath a tree in the Scottish Highlands, was created by vacation rental company Airbnb.

The little home is “a stumpy, secluded haven fit for a solitude-seeking ogre” and features a floor entirely of bare soil.

According to a listing on Airbnb that appears to have been created by Donkey himself, it is being hosted by Shrek’s best friend Donkey, who is swamp-sitting while Shrek is away for Halloween.

He declares in it: “I love everything about the swamp: the boulder out front. Also, the simple interiors, the seclusion (ideal for singing karaoke late into the night), you get the picture.”

Moreover, The vacation rental offers an open floor plan with a solid hardwood bed resting against one wall, accommodating up to three visitors.

On the other side of the home, a matching table and two wooden chairs are in front of an open fire.

Shrek’s Swamp Airbnb also has ornamental accents, such as a green “earwax candle” that alludes to a scene where Shrek ignites an earwax stick he takes out of his ear.

Additionally, a bedroom lamp that resembles a stuffed pufferfish is there.

Shrek’s outhouse is also accessible to visitors and is approximately 20 meters from the swamp.

The Scottish Highlands’ cottage has warning signs that read “Stay out,” “Beware Ogre,” and “Danger!”. But Donkey says they are “probably for decoration.”

Furthermore, The house will be bookable starting on October 13 for a two-night stay between October 27 and 29. It has a concierge on site who will organise meals for the visitors. Including breakfast parfaits and waffles in the morning.

This mud-covered, moss-covered sanctuary with murky water is the ideal place to get away from town life and appreciate nature.

As part of the initiative, the business will give a one-time donation to the HopScotch Children’s Charity.
