Architecture Competition: The Unbelievable Challenge 2021

Design a Museum of Snow by the 3rd of November. Give us your boldest, most unique idea, and you might win a sixth month, fully-paid internship at the prestigious architecture office WXCA in Warsaw, Poland.

What is your unique, inspiring and innovative solution for Mr. Santa Claus’s Museum of Snow?

Goal is to raise awareness about the approaching extinction of snow. Santa Claus wishes to create an exciting new venue to celebrate and showcase snow as well as snow-related activities. The venue is to be inspired by and fit for the harsh conditions of Mr. Santa’s native North. It introduces modern services and facilities for all audiences – the design should be innovative and inviting to local and global visitors alike. What’s more, the museum’s exhibitions are aimed to act as a catalyst to understanding current environmental challenges that face us today. You’re expected to challenge the way we think about sustainable building as well as architectural design.

The submitter of the winning proposal is awarded a fully paid 6-month internship for one person at WXCA, an architecture, landscape architecture and interior design company in Warsaw, Poland. The internship takes place in Spring 2022 (the precise time is to be negotiated between the winner and representative of WXCA).

The intern will be given the opportunity to work on interesting projects corresponding to their area of expertise and interest. The approximate total value of the internship is €25,000 (including salary, taxes, deductions and rent for an apartment in Warsaw).

The details of the internship are agreed upon in more detail between the winner and WXCA. In case the winning proposal is made by a team of more than one person, that team will choose the intern. Additionally, the jury will award the winning proposal and a minimum of four (4) other proposals with a cash prize of €1,000 each. Honourable mentions may also be given.
