Opera house of the future دار الأوبرا في المستقبل

Call for Entries: Opera house of the future

Home » Competitions » Call for Entries: Opera house of the future

The location of a new opera house development must be decided in the state capital Düsseldorf. The Düsseldorf Opera House’s current position at the Heinrich-Heine-Allee, as well as the location at “Am Wehrhahn 1”, were selected as viable choices after a thorough analysis of potential site sites.

Additionally, the state capital Düsseldorf wants to collect ideas for both of the potential development sites through this urban planning competition. In order for the LHD to make an educated location decision following review, the competition’s outcome should emphasize each area’s potential and opportunities. In fact, there would be a competition for realization after the governmental decision.

Moreover, different fundamentals for the future accommodation of an opera theater are at each construction site.

The urban planning competition’s objectives are as follows:

– the urban planning of the opera theaters in Cuba;

– the validation of functional and location-specific requirements created by Düsseldorf,

– depiction of the opera house in its urban setting and its intersection with the local urban fabric

– and in particular, the expansion of the city’s advantages in pursuit of “an opera for everyone”

Additionally, the competition language will be German.
