Completed the Brooklyn Super Tower this week,

New York-based studio SHoP Architects has completed the black

and bronze facade of the Brooklyn Tower, the tallest building in the area.

The giant skyscraper has a height of 93 floors and a height of 1,066 feet (325 meters),

and was topped up in March 2023.

But the intricate cladding on the outside was only recently completed.

The skyscraper is distinguished by stainless black panels that extend from the top of the tower towards the bottom.

Where you meet the preserved historic Dimes Savings Bank,

which is integrated into the tower platform.

The length of the tower extends over bronze and copper columns that give definition to the black façade.

Which at some points reach to the edges, creating a stunning look.

The building quickly became one of, if not the most visible in the Brooklyn skyline.

Last year, SHoP President Greg Pascarelli said that the structure, due to its own division,

“It’s going to be kind of like the Empire State Building in Brooklyn.”

He continued, “We wanted to make sure that no matter what network you were on,

looking at it from wherever you were in Brooklyn, it felt like you were looking at the front.”

The residential skyscraper, which includes over 500 residential units as well as retail at its base,

It has a broader base than many other giant buildings because of the winds in Brooklyn.

The larger base means that the spire tapers,

drawing attention to the pinnacles of the smaller spire as it narrows towards the pinnacles.

The base is clad in white marble, reflecting an Art Deco bank, and darkens as it rises.

Design features

The tower also has a number of “wind decks” along its length

which allow heavy gusts of wind to pass through without shaking the massive structure.

According to New York magazine Curbed, one of the tallest windsocks is equipped with a basketball court, the highest in the world.

The distinctive shape and color of the tower led some in the city to compare the building to the architecture of Sauron’s Dark Castle.

It is a constellation in Peter Jackson’s depiction of The Lord of the Rings novels.

Inside, the Art Deco design of the Dimes Saving Bank has been carried through many of the public spaces.

Including lobby design by Krista Ninivaggi.

The tower features multiple entrances, one directly from the street

and the other through the renovated bank, which has become a retail and pedestrian space.

Local interiors firm Gachot Studios designed most of the residences.

SHoP Architects is also responsible for the nearby Barclays Center,

a stadium clad in thousands of steel panels.

She has designed a number of other buildings around the city,

including 111 W 57th Street on Billionaires Row in Manhattan.

The thinnest skyscraper in the world.
