Overview

The China Daily-Use Articles Trade Fair (CDATF) is Asia’s most established flagship exhibition for the homeware and daily-use consumer goods industry. Now in its 119th edition, the fair has been a cornerstone of China’s consumer goods trade since its founding in 1953, evolving from a national distribution platform into a globally recognized sourcing hub connecting China’s top manufacturers with professional buyers from across the world. Organized by RX Huabai, a member of RX Global, the event spans over 180,000 square metres and brings together more than 5,000 exhibitors and over 100,000 professional visitors from more than 70 countries and regions. More than 90% of exhibitors are source factories with verified export experience and mature OEM/ODM capabilities, making CDATF a uniquely direct and efficient sourcing environment.

The homeware and interior products showcased at CDATF intersect closely with interior design sourcing. Explore how material culture shapes living spaces on ArchUp Interior Design.

Focus

CDATF covers the full spectrum of daily-use household products across eight major categories: kitchenware including cookware, cutlery, drinkware, and tableware; cleaning and bathroom products; home textiles including towels, carpets, mats, and bedding; household and storage items; fashion and lifestyle accessories; disposable products; glassware; and smart small appliances including kitchen gadgets, personal care devices, and compact electronics. The fair serves as the primary mid-year sourcing platform in China, enabling product discovery, OEM/ODM negotiations, private-label development, and long-term trade partnerships between manufacturers and global distribution networks.

Highlights

The 119th edition features over 3,000,000 products across the exhibition floor, with more than 100,000 new designs and export-ready launches anticipated. A TAP Diamond VIP Matching Programme facilitates pre-arranged one-to-one meetings between exhibitors and high-value buyers. Conference forums and industry seminars bring together experts, KOLs, and sector leaders to discuss trends, upgrading strategies, and market opportunities in the daily-use goods industry. A dedicated Business Matching Programme supports efficient buyer-supplier pairing. International buyers benefit from a streamlined pre-registration process allowing fast-track entry via a dedicated visitor channel, with a confirmation badge collected on arrival. The fair is supported by the China Commerce Association for General Merchandise, the official national body for China’s department store and daily-use products sector, with over 800 direct enterprise members and 15,000 indirect members.

Audience

CDATF is open exclusively to trade professionals aged 18 and above. It attracts importers, distributors, wholesalers, retailers, e-commerce sellers, department store buyers, and procurement managers from domestic and international markets. Sourcing agents, product developers, private-label brand owners, and OEM/ODM partners are also core visitors. The fair draws buyers from across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, with international representation from over 70 countries and regions. Exhibitors are primarily verified Chinese manufacturers with export-ready production lines covering all major homeware categories.

✦ ArchUp Editorial Insight

At 119 editions and counting, CDATF is not merely a trade fair — it is a living archive of how China’s manufacturing identity has evolved in step with global consumer culture. What began as a domestic distribution mechanism in 1953 is today one of the most consequential sourcing events in the world, quietly underpinning the supply chains of interior product markets on every continent. For architects and interior designers, events like CDATF are often invisible yet indispensable: the kitchenware on a specification sheet, the storage system in a residential fit-out, the textile that softens a hospitality interior — much of it originates from the factory floors represented in Shanghai each July. The rise of OEM and ODM manufacturing at the scale CDATF represents also raises important questions about design authorship, material authenticity, and the ethics of sourcing in an era of growing sustainability awareness. As global buyers increasingly demand transparency in supply chains and sustainable production credentials, trade fairs like this one are being asked to be more than transactional — they are becoming arenas for negotiating what responsible production looks like. For the design community, that conversation is worth paying close attention to.
