November 19 @ 4:00 am - December 19 @ 11:00 am
$67.58
The 16th edition of the Dakar Biennale (Dak’Art) will take place from November 19 to December 19, 2026, in Dakar, Senegal. As one of Africa’s leading contemporary art biennials, the event brings together artists, curators, galleries, cultural institutions, collectors, and art enthusiasts from Senegal and around the world.
The 2026 edition, curated under the theme “(Anti)fragility: Arts of Repair and Counter-Shock Strategies,” explores how art can respond to social, political, environmental, and cultural challenges. The programme focuses on transforming vulnerability and fragility into opportunities for resilience, dialogue, collective action, and creative renewal through community-based practices and co-creation.
The biennale is led by Artistic Director Morad Montazami and will feature a diverse programme of contemporary artistic practices, exhibitions, performances, discussions, and cultural activities. Alongside the main programme, the OFF Programme will present independent exhibitions and artistic projects across Dakar, creating a broader platform for local and international creative expression.
The Dakar Biennale offers an important opportunity to discover contemporary African and international art while engaging with current cultural debates and innovative artistic approaches.
