Ithra Design Week returns to Dhahran in November 2026 with a six-day program exploring design as a tool for questioning inherited systems and shaping new possibilities. Under the theme Redesigning the Default, the event brings together designers, studios, thinkers and institutions from Saudi Arabia, the region and abroad.
Across the week, visitors can move between exhibitions, commissioned installations, workshops, masterclasses, design challenges, interactive sessions and public conversations. The program also includes the Design Majlis, a design market and the Day With an Expert format, creating different points of entry for professionals, students and the wider public.
The 2026 theme asks what designers choose to change when familiar defaults no longer serve their purpose. Rather than treating design only as product or appearance, the program frames it as a process of inquiry, experimentation and deliberate transformation. General access is available to all age groups, while selected workshops and specialist programs have separate participation requirements.
