The International Biennial Association is a global nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting biennials, triennials, contemporary art institutions, artists, curators, researchers, and arts professionals around the world.

The 14th edition of Liverpool Biennial will take place from June 5 to September 12, 2027, across historic buildings, public spaces, galleries, and cultural venues throughout Liverpool, United Kingdom. As the UK’s largest free festival of contemporary visual art, the Biennial transforms the city into a vibrant platform for artistic exploration, bringing together artists, curators, communities, and audiences from Liverpool and around the world.

The 2027 edition will explore the perspectives, experiences, and imaginations of childhood and youth, examining how young people understand and shape the world around them. The festival will bring together local and international voices, creating opportunities to reflect on identity, community, creativity, and the experiences that influence younger generations.

The Biennial will be co-curated by Lucía Sanromán, Chief Curator at MUAC in Mexico City, and Aimee Harrison, Curator of Learning at Liverpool Biennial. Their curatorial approach will emphasize youth, imagination, participation, and community perspectives, connecting Liverpool’s local context with broader international conversations.

Through exhibitions, public artworks, installations, and cultural activities presented throughout the city, Liverpool Biennial 2027 will offer audiences an engaging and accessible experience of contemporary visual art. With free admission, the festival will continue its commitment to making contemporary art available to diverse communities and creating meaningful connections between artists, young people, and the public.
