Competition Brief

Full Reclaim 2026 is a global competition in the field of architecture organized by Antepavilion which not only offers innovative design but also the building up of the architectural and artistic structures using only reclaimed and recycled materials. The competition is focused mainly on the physical construction process and creative reuse of the savaged resources as well as responding to environmental challenges and the skill in the artistic design. The participants will be free to use the materials provided by the organizers or to choose other reclaimed materials that they would like to acquire and work with.

Intent

The intention of the competition is to bring about the sustainable design through the creative reuse and recycling of materials as well as, to provide the participants with the challenge to rethink and re-evaluate the traditional construction methods. It not only wants but also helps to create the architects and buildings that are experimental and inventive and are integrating the limitations of material with the imagination of space.

Pupose

The aim of Full Reclaim is to create a platform that is open to all where both the new and established practitioners can take their shot at the reclaimed materials in built form. Moreover, the competition is intended to shed light on the importance of skill and bricklaying in the present day architectural practice and thus open up a channel of communication between the two.

Regulations

Full Reclaim invites submissions from everybody including individuals and teams no matter of professional qualification or experience level. The participants are responsible for showing through their actions that they are capable of physically carrying out and putting up the design primarily based on the DIY principle. The submissions must contain documentation that illustrates the design idea, material use plan, and the construction technique that ensures safety and feasibility.

Jury

The evaluation of the submissions gets done by a jury consisting of professional experts connected with Antepavilion and architects, builders, and artists who are invited. The jury takes into account the factors such as creativity, material innovation, and construction quality, along with the efficacy of the design in using reclaimed resources in accordance with its architectural intention.

✦ ArchUp Competition Review

The Full Reclaim 2026 competition is an event coordinated by Antepavilion, a platform for experimental architecture that is well-known for its built interventions, although the completely transparent individual jury members are not disclosed. The competition is of a nature that it can be categorized as professional and experimental build-oriented rather than purely academic or for publicity purposes. The distribution of the prizes usually reflects the high degree of physical labour, responsibility for construction and experimentation with materials that participants will be doing. For the participants, the biggest benefit is not the guaranteed long-term professional commissions but rather the hands-on construction experience, material research and portfolio development. Architects, builders and artists connected to Antepavilion are the jury members which depicts the practice of emphasis placed on the practical expertise, craftsmanship and material innovation over formal academic evaluation.

Conclusion and Final Thoughts

Full Reclaim 2026 is a unique and exceptional chance for designers and makers to work hands-on with material reuse and practical construction in an open urban environment. Through its focus on reclaimed materials and the use of DIY skills, the competition encourages one to think critically about the sustainable practice and the bond between design and making. So, the contestants should not limit themselves to their particular field, but rather, they should expose their work to the learnings from other competitions like Architecture at Zero, Urban & Architecture Design Awards 2026, and International Excellence Awards 2026 . This is important in order to grasp the larger currents in the areas of sustainability and experimental design.
