Architectural Competition: Gaudi La Coma Artists’ Residences

Probably Barcelona’s most well-known and adored architect is Antoni Gaudi. He created some of the most recognizable landmarks in the world, including the Sagrada Famlia, which he regrettably never saw finished. His work can be found all around the city.

Gaudi was an architectural innovator who was driven by a desire to serve local communities and was inspired by the natural world. Incorporating sustainability and social effect into his designs a century before most people knew how crucial they would be, Gaudi’s design concepts were far ahead of their time.

Moreover, the Gaudi La Coma Artists’ Residences is the first of several design competitions to honor Gaudi’s intellectual legacy that will be held in association with the Gaudi Knowledge Association and Inngenium Lab.

Furthermore, participants in this competition are asked to submit concepts for “La Coma,” a sustainable artists’ housing and educational complex. It must adhere to Antoni Gaudi’s design ideas and concepts of sustainability, utility, beauty, and innovation since it will be in Huesca, Spain.

The jury is seeking ideas that can establish themselves as famous landmarks while keeping preserving the local environment.
