British automaker Jaguar has unveiled its electric concept car, the Type 00, two weeks after launching a bold rebrand that generated significant online buzz.

The Type 00 Concept Car Design

Unveiled during Miami Art Week, the Type 00 concept car is designed to embody Jaguar’s new creative philosophy of “exuberant modernism.” The design aims to challenge conventional electric vehicle aesthetics with a striking blend of sweeping, fastback curves and an angular front end. Additionally, the car features a panoramic roof with “body-harmonising glazing.”

New Brand Vision Reflected in Design Elements

The Type 00 concept introduces a new linear graphic motif, the “strikethrough,” which conceals the full-width taillights at the rear. The iconic leaping jaguar logo has also been removed from the front and rear, replaced by a new wordmark. The leaping jaguar now appears subtly on the side of the car, etched into a brass ingot that reveals rear-facing cameras.

Artistic Approach to the Car’s Interior

Inside, the Type 00 is distinguished by the use of brass, travertine stone, and wool-blend woven textiles from Kvadrat. Brass lines run along the doors and center console, forming a “spine” that extends the visual flow of the car’s interior. The stone creates a plinth effect for the seats, adding to the sense of luxury.

The “Prism” Interactive Experience

The Type 00 concept car also introduces an interactive experience called Prism, based on the materials used throughout the car. Users can select from three totems—brass, travertine, and alabaster—and place them inside a slot in the center console. This interaction allows users to customize the mood of the interior, including ambient lighting, soundscape, and screen graphics, enhancing the sensory experience of the car.

Subtle and Hidden Technologies

The design of the Type 00 also emphasizes hidden technologies. Features include screens that glide across the dashboard, powered storage areas that open on demand, and a live display that replaces the traditional rearview mirror. These innovations are intended to create a seamless, futuristic driving experience.

Color Options and Meaning Behind the Name

The Type 00 concept was presented in two colors: Miami Pink and London Blue. The name “Type 00” pays homage to Jaguar’s classic naming convention, while the “zero” in the name represents the car’s zero tailpipe emissions. This marks the beginning of a new lineage for the automaker.

The Future of Jaguar

Jaguar has positioned this rebrand as a “complete reset” for the brand. The first production car to embody this new vision, an electric four-door GT, is expected to be unveiled in late 2025. Additionally, Jaguar plans to open new “brand stores” around the world as part of its rebranding efforts.
