KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2024
In 2024, the KOKUYO Design Award is seeking product designs that embrace the classic fundamentals of the tools needed for work, learning, and living with its theme “primitive”. When evaluating entries, the judges will take into account three points: “Clarity of the idea,” “How the idea addresses social issues,” and “The design’s marketability potential”.
THEME: primitive
ELIGIBLE ENTRIES: Any stationery, furniture or tool used in working, learning and living scenes
ELIGIBILITY: All ages, genders, professions, and nationalities are welcome to enter the competition; however, those entering must be capable of providing a presentation during the final judging, taking place on March 16, 2024. Furthermore, only designs that have not previously been presented to the public in Japan or any other country are eligible for entry.
PRIZES:
- Grand Prix (one winner) ¥2,000,000 (about $14,200)
- Merit Award (three winners) ¥500,000 (about $3,500) per winner
- NEW GENERATION Award (Max ten winners) \30,000 (about $210) per winner*
KOKUYO Co., Ltd. has created the NEW GENERATION Award to recognize the success of future generations. We are now inviting entries from elementary school students to graduate school students. Aiming to select up to 10 unique entries which will make us “feel that their futures will be exciting”. The presentations themselves will not be judged, only the sheets. KOKUYO DESIGN AWARD 2024
