OPEN Mugak/

The first call for activities to compose the program of the 5th Basque Country International Architecture Biennial Mugak/ is now open. This initiative seeks to finance cultural programs that will be integrated into the Mugak/ 2025 biennial.

In its fifth edition, Mugak/ proposes a space for collective reflection and experimentation to explore the architectural utopias that can help us build the desirable futures we aspire to inhabit. The proposals submitted must be aligned with this theme. With the name OPEN Mugak/, the call aims to financially support projects celebrating architecture in the three Basque capitals in autumn 2025.

For the first time, the call for activities is open to people and entities from outside the Basque Country, so those from the national and international sphere with the capacity to contract may apply.

Nature of Proposals

Proposals may include thematic programs, talks or conferences, visits, exhibitions, and open and free cultural expressions. Sumbit here.

Venues

The proposed activities should preferably occur in one of the three Basque capitals (Bilbao, Donostia-San Sebastián, and Vitoria-Gasteiz). Proposals with a confirmed venue for the program will be positively valued, although the organization, depending on the content and format of the chosen proposal, may offer the possibility of using one of the available Mugak/ Biennial spaces in the three capitals.

Prize

Each project will be eligible for a maximum of €15,000 in funding.
