This annual competition recognizes the best of the best in global packaging design.

Pentawards 2023 competition categories include:

• Home, Leisure & Other Markets
• Brand Identity & Connected Packaging
• Sustainable Design
• Professional Concepts
• Student Concepts & Brief

Any packaging that has been created and released to market anywhere in the world after 1st July 2021 to June 2023 is eligible for entry. All works submitted previously in the competition should not be offered again. Moreover, For the Student category, individuals currently in education, recent graduates, and design interns are eligible to enter.

Entries are judged by an incredible line-up of over 50 experts from brands and agencies like Estée Lauder, Microsoft, Pentagram, and PUMA, that are looking for excellent graphic and structural design, considering aspects such as typography, artwork, the logo or brand name, use of color, as well as structural aspects such as shape, form, and silhouette.

Five levels of awards: diamond, platinum, gold, silver, and bronze. The diamond award is to the packaging design which, across all categories, received the highest number of points. Moreover, The platinum award goes to each of the five major categories, to the packaging designs which received the most points in the given category. The gold, silver, and bronze awards are for the best packaging design in each sub-category.

Evaluation Criteria

Pentawards global Jury scores the pack or range for its originality and creativity, considering also innovation in areas currently driving the industry, such as sustainability, inclusive design, innovative technology, etc.

Eligibility

Freelance designers, design agencies, brands, branding agencies, brand owners, manufacturers, suppliers, and students are all within the packaging industry. Moreover, You are eligible if you have an involvement in the design, production, or marketing of the packaging.
