In collaboration with the Bedrock organization, Herbst Produkt provided a more intelligent and effective method for gathering and organizing geophysical data from the seafloor.

Herbst Produkt collaborated with the “Bedrock” group to create a smarter, even more, effective method of gathering and managing seabed geophysical data while creating an iconic brand for a risky endeavor.

Ingeniously established by Walter Herbst, Herbst Produkt is a multidisciplinary studio situated in Santa Cruz, California. Moreover, it focuses on cutting-edge holistic design.

Understanding our oceans is essential for modern applications. Such as accurate climate models, better weather forecasts, ocean safety, infrastructure for submarine communications, and sustainable ocean exploration.

Bedrock’s shape expertly displays hydrodynamics for the best range and power efficiency thanks to well-executed forms that highlights great visibility.

Additionally, it has a sensor placement system. A modular two-part system that enables quick field deployment from a travel case sent anywhere in the world. An accessible internal architecture with a user-friendly servicing bay, and a swappable battery module.

Bedrock’s AUV (autonomous underwater vehicle) design is surprisingly tiny and packed with several susceptible sensors capable of producing the most meticulously detailed image of the seafloor currently accessible. It offers high-resolution marine surveys from Geophysical to Hydrographic and UXO.

Because of its technology, we can gather data more quickly, effectively, and affordably.

Additionally,  it makes ocean mapping safer with little harm to the ecosystem, risk to endangered species, and destruction of infrastructure.

According to the studio, “Bedrock is committed to giving the world a publicly available map of our world’s oceans, nearly 50x more detailed than the one now available.”

Why should smart gadgets be so obvious?SF-SO’s Hidden Objects propose ways in which everyday items can be naturally hidden and blend in with the surrounding environment. “Companies desire to make newly released products stand out [is leading] to unnecessary decorations and shapes during design,” says SF-SO. “In the end, this is also the reason why people
